The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Bonn and the Open Society Foundation (OSF), London are offering a joint scholarship program for graduates and younger scientists (faculty members) from the Republic of Moldova. Three types of scholarships are offered:

Students in the last year of study may also apply, provided that they will obtain their degree until the beginning of the scholarship. The list of selected master courses can be obtained from the lector of the DAAD in Moldova, Mr.Jan-Peter Abraham

  • three-year scholarships for Ph.D. studies (doctorate in Germany). Applicants must hold a master degree in one of the following disciplines: Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Law, Economics (National Economy), Public Administration, Administration in Education, Public Health and Philosophy. Applicants should also be enrolled in the first or second year of their doctoral studies and the subject of their dissertation must be approved by the Scientific Council of their University. Furthermore, applicants must have established contact with a potential supervisor at a German university.

  • three-months-scholarships for Research Stays (two stays in two consecutive years). Applicants must hold a doctorate in one of the disciplines listed at point 2), which they should have obtained recently. Applicants need to be well qualified in their field of study and should be eager to engage in new matters and developments in teaching and research. They should also be interested in establishing a network with German scientists.

Good knowledge of the German or English language is an indispensable prerequisite for successfully studying in Germany. Therefore, applicants have to pass a language test organized by DAAD after turning in their application. Together with the scholarship may be awarded a German language course of two months, to be attended in Moldova before the beginning of the stay in Germany. If necessary, holders of a scholarship can attend an additional language course of two or four months in Germany, also before the beginning of their studies. Applicants who wish to attend a master course taught in English language need to prove good knowledge of English submitting the TOEFL test. Additional information as well as application forms can be obtained from the lector of the DAAD in Moldova, Mr.Jan-Peter Abraham, or from the Educational Advising Center.
