The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Open Society Institute (OSI) and University College London (UCL) - School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) are offering five jointly funded scholarships for graduate study at UCL-SSEES.

The scholarships will enable students to undertake one-year taught Master's studies in selected programmes at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London, which is world-renowned for its high standard of research and teaching. (SSEES was rated '5' in the UK Research Assessment Exercise 2001, confirming the international excellence of its research.)

The scheme is aimed at meeting a recognised need for specialist knowledge in the South-East European states in order to meet EU integration requirements, particularly pertaining to the processes of economic transition, reconstruction, development and growth within the Stabilisation and Association Process.

Eligibility The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission into one of the following selected MA programmes at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London: MA Political Economy of Russia and Eastern Europe, MA Politics, Security and Integration, MA Central and South-East European Studies, MA History, MA Identity, Culture and Power, MRes Politics and Economics of Eastern Europe.
