CareerUP Empowering Women


	CareerUP Empowering Women - a program especially designed for women - and oriented towards career identification and development. A program, with an individualized approach, which provides guidance and support in launching into the job market.

The Educational Advising Center announces the activity results within the current cycle of CareerUP Empowering Women initiative, organized with full financial support of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

CareerUP Empowering Women is a free of charge program for women on career guidance, focused on the knowledge and expansion of job search strategies, as well as on the development of employment skills.

The 2024/25 cycle of the project was implemented by the Educational Advising Center Chisinau, in partnership with the NGO "Youth of Gagauzia" from Comrat.

The target group is represented by young women and girls from Chisinau and Comrat municipalities, respectively, from adjacent areas, as well as by refugees from Ukraine, aged between 18-40 years.

In 5-month project s period (September 2024 January 2025), a total of 168 female participants 77 young women trained by the center in Chisinau and, respectively, 91 women, out of which 70 MD and 21 UKR, trained by the center in Comrat benefited from orientation trainings, organized by the 2 implementing Centers (6 groups of women trained per Center).

The 14-hour intensive course, with guidance on applying for studies, securing a job and/or getting a perfect internship consisted of the following 7 modules:

Career Management and Planning
(exploring and discovering interests and passions, setting goals and outlining plans for the professional future)

Professional Portfolio Draft
(learning how to showcase your own skills and achievements in a convincing and professional manner)

Professional Portfolio Round Up
(editing and/or perfecting the professional portfolio)

Job Interview
(getting ready to impress employers and confidently answer questions)

Nonverbal Communication
(getting ready on how to convey clear messages by the means of body language)

Negotiation and Effective Communication Techniques
(negotiation strategies and communication techniques to achieve positive results in professional interactions)

Employment Contract, Job Description, and Decision-Making Factors
(getting informed and ready to make wise decisions on the future career, including understanding the legal and administrative aspects of the employment contract).

In addition, to facilitate the integration into the labor environment, the project provided a basic linguistic course (10 hours), as support for non-native speakers of the Romanian language (from Comrat region).
