Test of English as a Foreign LanguageThe purpose of the Test of English as a Foreign Language is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. Overall, more than 6,000 institutions, agencies, and organizations in over 110 countries use TOEFL test scores. The test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The TOEFL test is offered in different formats depending on a test taker's location:- Computer-based Testing (CBT) - Paper-based Testing (PBT) - Internet-based Testing (iBT) The computer- and paper-based (CBT, PBT) versions of the TOEFL test will be given at a particular location until the Internet-based version is implemented. Starting September 2006, in Moldova, the TOEFL test is offered in Internet-based Testing (iBT) format at an authorized ETS test center. The TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Online registration and online score reporting make it easier for students to register for TOEFL iBT and receive their test scores. The testing fee for Moldova region is USD 165.
Accepted methods of registration and payment for the Internet-based test:
For both online & phone: Early registration closes seven days prior to the test date (not including the day of the test). Late registration closes three days prior to the test date (not including the day of the test). Registrations received after the early registration deadline incur a late fee of US$25.
