Students from across the US and the world now have the unique opportunity to participate in professional internationally-themed internships through the Center for Global Education-George Mason University in Washington, DC. These exciting internships come with the additional option to study abroad through several interesting and practical academic programs. Both graduate and undergraduate students may participate.

Global Humanitarian Action Internship Students have the opportunity to participate in a 15 week, interdisciplinary internship that explores humanitarian challenges, disaster prevention and risk assessment through a combination of professional internships, academic seminars, and relevant site visits in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. During the program's final week, students travel abroad to a country focused on humanitarian aid.

Institute on International Development During the summer we offer an eight week, interdisciplinary Institute on International Development. Students will gain insight in sustainable development, eco-tourism, human rights, peace education, fair trade and the Central American Free Trade Agreement. Students will have the chance to travel to Costa Rica and experience first hand the opportunities and challenges of international development.

ELIGIBILITY: This program is open all GMU students, non-GMU students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public. Undergraduate students must have at least 45 credit hours and a 2.5 GPA to participate. Graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA to participate. Scholarships available! Financial Aid may apply!
